TThe excitement of seeing which players will be participating in team USA is a big deal – but there is another world that looks for something more than just the players. The sneaker world looks forward to seeing all of the player exclusive shoes that the guys wear. This year did not disappoint, with the first look at the Curry Two, another colorway of the Kyrie 1, Custom versions for John Wall, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony – as well as some other player exclusives you have to check out below!

The Cassy Athena Collection

II recently held my first gallery to showcase my photography! The event took place the day before the ESPYS and it was a great turnout. The venue that hosted the gallery was Neo 39 in Old Town Pasadena, it was an underground space that they recently built but hasn’t been open to the public yet.

The space included 37 of my photos – ranging from sports to music to lifestyle. Featured pictures included Paul George, Pooch Hall, Andre Drummond, Jeron Johnson, Trevor Jackson, Kyrie Irving, Stephen Curry, James Harden, The Game and more…

Michael Jordan hosts All Star Party

EEvery year during all star weekend, one of the most exclusive parties to get access to is the Jordan Brand party, hosted by Michael Jordan himself. This year was no different – a line of invite-only guests wrapped around the building, as people waited in below freezing temperatures to get inside. The building, located on Wall Street, was two stories big, as well as 2 different stages for artists to perform. Ariana Grande was the first to come out and perform. A side stage had Prince performing. The upper level was a VIP floor that included just about every celebrity you could think of – Michael Jordan, Beyonce, Jay Z, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Andre Drummond, James Harden, Victor Oladipo, Ludacris, Nelly, Derek Jeter and the list goes on…I snapped some pics to share some of the inside atmosphere. Overall it was a pretty cool event to check out!

Team USA continues at West Point

TTeam USA has been making their way across the United States before they head to the FIBA World Cup in Spain later this month. Their last stop in the US is New York. On Monday, the team made their way to West Point to visit with some of our troops. An open practice took place for everyone that came out. After the practice, team USA had the West Point Men’s and Women’s basketball players join them in competing in everything from 3-point contests to a very exciting game of knockout! Everyone was all smiles and overall had a good time!

“Ball Up” Street Ball takes over downtown LA

SStreet Ball legends took over the Nokia Live in downtown Los Angeles for an acrobatic display of basketball. Ball Up, formerly known as And-1, is a team of the top street ball players in the country. They travel the world playing against local talent from each city. At the end of each game, one player is chosen from each city to come compete at the final game in Las Vegas at the end of the summer. From there, one player will be chosen to join the Ball Up team and travel the world with them.  They are not only amazing basketball players but awesome people as well! I have worked with Ball Up and many of the players for years and they are really great to be around. The atmosphere at the games is very playful and fun. Many of the NBA rules do not apply, leaving for the creative minds of these ball players to take over – From insane ball handling skills to hanging off the rim after a monster slam dunk.

The opposing team in LA included a lot of local guys who can be seen balling at the Drew League, Venice Beach League and Air West. The celebrity guest coaches of the team were James Harden (Houston Rockets) and Gilbert Arenas (NBA Allstar). The halftime performance included a show from the group LMFAO. Many stars were seen sitting courtside enjoying the game as well!

Ball Up is currently touring the country right now and will be concluding the summer in Las Vegas! Be sure to check out a game when they come to your town. Check out the photo gallery below!

Drew League Week 04 – Saturday

This weekend I am out of town – I will be in San Antonio to shoot Game 2 of the NBA Finals (I’m super excited to be shooting my first NBA finals!) Despite being out of town, I made sure to have coverage of the Week 04 Drew League action that’s going on this weekend! Today included a variety of players, including Marcus Williams, Keion Bell, Stanley Johnson and Baron Davis. Next week the High school and College players will be joining the Drew League action. James Harden and DeMar DeRozan were also in the building to check out some of the games. Stay tuned for more exciting pictures this weekend. Thanks to Spencer Frank for filling in for me at the Drew.

Clippers host Pumpkin Carving contest for game tickets

Around Halloween last year, Fox Sports West hosted a pumpkin carving contest. I don’t have much experience with carving pumpkins, but I gave it a try and ended up carving a portrait of Blake Griffin on a pumpkin – which ended up winning the contest! My tickets arrived and I headed to Staples Center to watch the Houston Rockets take on the LA Clippers. Overall had a great experience!
