Shareef O’Neal celebrates his 16th birthday

SShareef O’Neal – the son of Shaquille and Shaunie O’Neal – celebrated his 16th birthday in style! The amazing party took place at Unici Casa in Los Angeles and included everything from a candy bar, photo booth,  In-N-Out and Pizza truck, Red Carpet and Cupcake tower. Shareef is known for his basketball skills and many of his fellow basketball friends were there to celebrate with him. Master P, Snoop Dogg and Diddy’s kids were there to support. The guest performer was Post “White Iverson” Malone and the song got everyone jumpin’! The final celebration included  two amazing gifts from Shareef’s parents – a brand new Jeep and Lamborghini! Check out all of the amazing pictures below!

USC defeats Cal Poly SLO

UUSC has been off to a strong start, keeping their record 9-2 for the season. Cal Poly SLO has been making noise as well, beating teams like Fresno and coming very close to winning against UNLV and UCLA. They were unsuccessful at getting past the trojans, as they took a solid lead and won the game. Check out the photo gallery below

Chris Paul launches CP3 IX at the Kings of So Cal Tournament

SSanta Monica Pier was the breathtaking location for the Kings of So Cal tournament this year! Jordan Brand built an entire court in the middle of the Pier – something that has never been done before. This was not only a showcase for the top talent in southern California, but also a launch for the newest Jordan Brand sneaker – the Chris Paul IX’s. There were 4 teams total – each team rocked a different color way of the sneaker. There were also different stations set up around the pier where people could try on the sneaker and do different activities.

The tournament kicked off with Los Angeles vs The Valley. The Valley took control early on in the game and took the win. The next game was Orange County vs Inland Empire. IE are the defending champions from last year’s tournament. They also took a major lead in this game and took the win. Before the championship game began, there was a dunk contest with some impressive players. Chris Paul stopped by with his son Chris to interact with the players and check out all of the Jordan Brand stations set up. The championship game was a great match up with two very good teams. Unfortunately, the marine layer came in strong and the floor started to get slippery, causing the game to end before it was over.

Overall it was an amazing location with really great high school talent! Looking forward to seeing the other exciting events that Jordan Brand will put together! Check out the photo gallery below

New York’s legendary Dyckman league hosts playoffs

BBeing apart of the LA Basketball scene for years has opened up the doors to amazing opportunities and experiences. Everything from the Drew League, Real Run, JBL, Ball Up and the list goes on. One thing I haven’t been able to experience while being in New York was their local basketball scene. New York is known as the Mecca of basketball and has some iconic courts around the city. Everything from Dyckman to Rucker to Pro City, you can catch some great games with some amazing talent. I was in town filming the newest member of the Brooklyn Nets, Chris McCullough, for Thru The Lens. After talking with him more about Pro-Am basketball, he suggested I come check out the Dyckman league with him. After I finished working some of the Elite 24 events, I hopped on a train and headed north to the legendary Dyckaman court. I had a great time and everyone showed me so much love. I also ran into a former Long Beach State player that I had shot years ago *Small world*. Stars like French Montana and Juelz Santana were coaching their teams in the league as well! I had a great time and will definitely be back for more!

Team USA Mini-Camp 2015: Day 01

DDay 01 for the Team USA Mini-Camp kicked off at UNLV in Las Vegas, NV. With it being the year before the olympics, the anticipation of who will show up has been running throughout the headlines! Everyone that was listed on the roster was in attendance, with the exception of LeBron James and Paul George. The workouts were open to the media, so we got to capture a lot of really cool content. Check out the photo gallery below!

John Wall explains meaning of tattoos with Red Bull

RRed Bull did a piece on NBA Star John Wall to talk about the meaning and importance of his tattoos. They filmed throughout the day at his summer house in Los Angeles. John even brought out his tattoo artist, Randy, to show the process and tattoo him while the cameras were rolling. Check out all the great pictures below, as well as the article that Red Bulletin posted with my photos!

Nick Young plays in local summer league

WWhen you think about summer basketball leagues, names like the Drew League, Chi League, Seattle Pro Am, AEBL and Goodman league come to mind. These are the top leagues in the nation – but there are also hundreds of smaller leagues and tournaments going on year round. I stopped by a small church league in Los Angeles to snap some pictures and Nick Young ended up coming by to play. Always nice to see good competition all over! Check out the photos below

LA D-Fenders beat OKC Blue in overtime

IIt’s been a while since I’ve been to a D-Fenders game but I had to check one out before the season was over. (Thanks Dexter Strickland for the tickets)

The D-Fenders had some familiar faces – Dexter Strickland, Vander Blue and Jamaal Franklin. The game went down to the wire – with the d-fenders barely winning with seconds left on the clock. It was a fun game! Be sure to check out the gallery below
