Matt Barnes & Snoop Dogg host 3rd Annual Athletes vs Cancer game

BBack to back to back! As the 3rd annual Athletes vs Cancer game ended, Team Snoop was victorious for the third year in the row over Team Matt. After the event has continued to grow each year, UCLA’s Drake Stadium proved to be a perfect venue to host the game. The celebrities and athletes fueled by the city put on a show for the ages. Both teams were packed with stars, Kevin Durant, DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, Swaggy P were front runners for Team Barnes. While Chuck Liddell, John Wall, Baron Davis and Kenneth Faried held it down for team Snoop. It sure didn’t look like the NBA stars had a hard time transitioning their talents, as their athleticism was on full display. Faried looked more like an NFL receiver than a NBA forward! John Wall backed up his claim as the fastest player in the NBA with ease. With other stars such as Wiz Khalifa, Ray J and Lakers #2 draft pick D’Angelo Russell in attendance, it was truly a star studded event – but never lost focus of its core meaning. All the people were there to support Barnes’ non-profit foundation Athletes vs Cancer. Barnes started the foundation in 2008 after losing his mother to cancer. For the last 3 years he has hosted this game, as well as other events, to raise money and awareness. The proceeds from the game will go towards supporting those that continue to fight the battle vs cancer on a daily basis! Be sure to check out pictures below!

Elite 24 All-Star Game – Day 03

TToday marks the 10 year anniversary of the Elite 24 games. The first game took place at Rucker Park in New York as a grass roots program sponsored by Boost Mobile. Over the years it picked up sponsorship by Under Armour and made its way to Venice Beach, CA. In 2013 the games moved to the Brooklyn Bridge Park. This years all star game was a good one and almost went into overtime! At halftime the people who created and built the Elite 24 from the ground up were honored with awards. Brandon Jennings was also included, as he won MVP the first year of the Elite 24, and was also the first basketball player signed to Under Armour. Some of the guests in the crowd included Elite 24 alumni Will Barton (Nuggets), Brandon Jennings (Pistons), Emmanuel Mudiay (Nuggets) and Chris McCullough (Nets). The MVP’s wereJoshua Jackson (2016), Billy Preston (2017), Bam Adebayo (2016),  and Frank Jackson (2016). Check out the photo gallery below!

Team USA 2015: Scrimmage

TThe Team USA Mini-Camp concluded with a Blue vs White scrimmage at the Thomas and Mack center at UNLV. A big concern in the back of everyone’s mind that watched last year was making sure there were no injuries.

The scrimmage included some players who weren’t apart of the two practice days – including Elfrid Payton, Arron Afflalo, and Amir Johnson. The first half was pretty light – the guys were putting on a show, but being careful. The second half turned into some big game highlights – with humungous dunks from Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond, DeMar DeRozan and Victor Oladipo. Blake and Andre had some monster dunks, while DeMar DeRozan did a 360 dunk. Arguably the biggest dunk of the game was Victor Oladipo dunking over Michael Carter-Williams and doing a dance after!

It was a fun game full of energy and smiles. The White team ended up winning 134-128. I had a great time being apart of Team USA for another year! Looking forward to next year! Check out the photos below

Michael Jordan hosts All Star Party

EEvery year during all star weekend, one of the most exclusive parties to get access to is the Jordan Brand party, hosted by Michael Jordan himself. This year was no different – a line of invite-only guests wrapped around the building, as people waited in below freezing temperatures to get inside. The building, located on Wall Street, was two stories big, as well as 2 different stages for artists to perform. Ariana Grande was the first to come out and perform. A side stage had Prince performing. The upper level was a VIP floor that included just about every celebrity you could think of – Michael Jordan, Beyonce, Jay Z, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Andre Drummond, James Harden, Victor Oladipo, Ludacris, Nelly, Derek Jeter and the list goes on…I snapped some pics to share some of the inside atmosphere. Overall it was a pretty cool event to check out!

SSome people have seen the behind-the-scenes content floating around the internet from the music video Eric Bellinger recently shot with 2 Chainz; but a lot of people have been curious which song that was. The song is a new single called “Focused On You” which is now available on iTunes! To kick it off, he had a private listening party (which included everyone from Vine stars to Power 106 personalities) to hear the new track, as well as showing us the new music video (which will drop first thing in 2015) Check out the photos below!

Sacramento State defeats CSUN – Men’s Soccer

OOver the summer I met a few friends that are very into soccer – so they’ve been trying their best to get me to come out to some games and become a fan. My friend Chimdum Mez (aka Chimi) is a player for Sacramento State. They had a game here at Cal State Northridge so I went to check it out with my camera. I was up in the stands but overall I had a fun time! Chimi did great, scoring the goal that ultimately won the game! I wish them the best of luck in the season – I might have to check out some more games!

Paul George, The Watson Family and Red Grant host Poker Charity event

AAthletes and Entertainers came together Saturday night to host a charity Poker night at Exotic Euro Cars in Woodland Hills, CA. The red carpet included a variety of stars, including DeSean Jackson, Master P, Regina Hall, Paul George, the Watson Family, Red Grant, Jeff Adrien, Ed Davis and Floyd Mayweather. This event was set up to raise money and awareness for children who have been affected with cancer. A little boy diagnosed with head cancer was ecstatic to meet Paul George and get a photo alongside him. As the night went on, many people had gathered around different tables to join in on Black Jack, Poker, Craps and more. There were signed jerseys, paintings and other memorabilia lined up around the building that people could bid on to raise money. There was plenty of food, good music and great people throughout the night. Paul has been working on building a charity of his own – the Paul George Foundation. He is passionate about giving back to others and especially helping children. It was a great night, be sure to check out the photo gallery below!
