EEvery year during all star weekend, one of the most exclusive parties to get access to is the Jordan Brand party, hosted by Michael Jordan himself. This year was no different – a line of invite-only guests wrapped around the building, as people waited in below freezing temperatures to get inside. The building, located on Wall Street, was two stories big, as well as 2 different stages for artists to perform. Ariana Grande was the first to come out and perform. A side stage had Prince performing. The upper level was a VIP floor that included just about every celebrity you could think of – Michael Jordan, Beyonce, Jay Z, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Andre Drummond, James Harden, Victor Oladipo, Ludacris, Nelly, Derek Jeter and the list goes on…I snapped some pics to share some of the inside atmosphere. Overall it was a pretty cool event to check out!
HHaving both NBA All Star Weekend collide with New York Fashion Week brought out the best of both worlds – as well as some of those worlds combining! Throughout New York you could find some of the most fashionable NBA players attending fashion shows – either as spectators or actually involved with the clothing lines! I checked out the Behind the Bench gala – a fundraiser/fashion show put on by the basketball wives. The event took place at the Marriot in Times Square and was beautifully set up. I made my way backstage to link up with two different clothing lines started by NBA players. The first was Dorell Wright [Portland Trailblazers] line, Scrapes and Gravel. The second was Jack McClinton [Former NBA] and Carlos Boozer [LA Lakers] line, Loaded Dock. Other players in attendance to support were Quincy Miller [Detroit Pistons] and Eric Moreland [Sacramento Kings]. It was fun seeing a different side of these players – as well as seeing the creativity that goes into the entire process! I have some pictures below, but I also have some video footage coming soon!
Jack McClinton and Dorell Wright
WWith so many NBA superstars being in New York at one time, you can only imagine how many media were there to cover all of the action! It was a unique experience for me getting to see this side of everything. As most of you know, I started off with behind-the-scenes content and have expanded from there. Not being able to even get a question in to players I’m friends with was a new experience (haha!). I got some cool pictures of all the action! Check it out
AAnother fun part about All Star Weekend is the opportunity for fans to meet their favorite players! Some of the players involved with the All Star Weekend activities (and even some that were just in town visiting) were doing signings for the fans that wanted to come out and get an autograph and say hi. Under Armour set up a signing for Stephen Curry at the Footlocker on 34th street. Today was also the first day launch of the Curry One! I arrived at 8am and there was already a long line in the FREEZING weather! The event started at 9am and the line had grown even more – stretching all the way down the street. Stephen was able to get through the entire line and greet everyone that had waited for him. On his way out, he made sure to high-five and say hi to the fans that were waiting outside to say hi as he left. Congrats Stephen! Check out the pictures below:
